Cadet Brandon Bohrn, a native of Simpsonville, South Carolina, is earning international recognition by becoming a Fulbright Scholar for the 2015-16 academic year. Following his year in Germany, Bohrn plans to pursue a graduate degree in international relations or Germanic studies. His ultimate goal is to serve as a Foreign Service officer with the U.S. State Department.

"We are very excited to see yet another Fulbright named from The Citadel," said Brig. Gen. Samuel Hines, provost and dean of the college. "The Citadel's combination of academic excellence and leadership training makes cadets excellent candidates for fostering global understanding."

In the South Carolina Corps of Cadets, Bohrn currently serves as the executive officer for Band Company. He is also one of Band Company's honor representatives to the Honor Committee. During his time at The Citadel, Bohrn earned numerous scholarships and accolades, including the Star of the West Scholarship for summer study in 2013 and 2014. He was also named "the most influential leader" to the Band Company freshman classes of 2016 and 2017.
