The Citadel

For the first time ever, The Citadel Career Center was awarded a grant to help more cadets and students achieve their professional goals. The $30,000 grant - provided by Boeing - went a long way for eight cadets and students who interned at various organizations in Charleston over the summer and fall. Grant money also went to several faculty partners to support student projects, such as the Supply Chain Management and Port Club and Citadel STEM project. The Career Center held a Boeing Grant Award Recognition Appreciation luncheon to show their gratitude for Boeing's investment as well as to highlight results from each internship. At the event, each individual discussed their internship and shared what they learned, what skills they developed and the overall experience they had. A representative from each site also spoke about how their intern preformed, what they contributed, the assigned projects and the difference between an intern from The Citadel versus past interns from other colleges. Based on the grant's stipulations, students were to benefit from learning transferable skills which apply in business and engineering. Internship sites varied from national political offices, local engineering companies, local financial investment companies, police departments and more.

Citadel Cadet James Jennings has secured a summer internship with Hill Construction. Jennings is a rising junior majoring in construction engineering, a new degree path through The Citadel School of Engineering.

Citadel junior Rhaei Brown has secured a summer internship with Mediterranean Shipping Company in Charleston. Brown is a junior in business administration through the Tommy and Victoria Baker School of Business.

Citadel Cadet Douglas Charlie Hatler has secured a summer internship with Aerotek. Hatler is a senior majoring in business administration and Spanish.

Cadet Matthew Livingston has secured a summer internship with Blue Chair Bay Rum. His internship will be in marketing and sales. Livingston is a junior majoring in business administration through the Tommy and Victoria Baker School of Business.

Citadel Cadet Donovan Pflieger has secured a summer internship with Clark Associates. Pflieger is a junior majoring in business administration through the Tommy and Victoria Baker School of Business.

Citadel Cadet William Rasberry has secured a summer internship with Handsome Properties in Charleston. Rasberry is a junior in business administration through the Tommy and Victoria Baker School of Business.

Citadel Cadet Cagney Irving has secured a summer internship with Adidas. Her internship will be in social purpose marketing. Irving is a junior majoring in sport management through The Citadel Department of Health, Exercise and Sport Science. She was selected as one of 11 interns from more than 1,000 applicants.

Each semester, The Citadel's cadet intern partnership program with the British Parliament gives two cadets the opportunity to work alongside some of the world's most respected political leaders while representing the United States.

Cadet Joshua Bowman completes internship for Congressman Joe Wilson. As an intern, Bowman gained valuable experience working in Washington, D.C., where he attended committee hearings, led tours, assisted the office staff and conducted research for the legislative assistants.
