The Citadel Distinguished Scholars Program (CDSP) is guiding its second group of cadets from the Class of 2023 toward constructing the kind of academic portfolio needed to be seriously considered for prestigious post-graduate scholarships such as a Rhodes or Fulbright. The program selection committee identifies the highest-performing freshmen, who then work during their time as undergraduates at The Citadel to prepare to compete for master's or doctoral degrees from the world's best universities.

Each year, students who excel academically and maintain integrity and high ethical standards are invited to join this prestigious honor society. Only the top 7.5 percent of juniors and the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students are eligible for membership

The Citadel's Beta Iota Rho chapter of The National Political Science Honor Society of Pi Sigma Alpha inducted seven new cadet members into the select group.

The Citadel's chapter of The National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi celebrated its 37th anniversary in 2016 by inducting 50 new members, including three accomplished faculty and 47 cadets and students.

The Citadel's Chapter of The National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi celebrated its 36th anniversary in 2015 by inducting 79 new members, including including six accomplished faculty, staff and distinguished alumnus, and 73 cadets and students.

The Citadel's Chapter of The National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2014 by inducting 93 new members, including two accomplished faculty members, a distinguished alumnus, and 90 students.
