The Citadel

Dean's List Spring 2013-2014 The Citadel has announced the names of students of The Citadel Graduate College who are taking evening undergraduate courses and have earned recognition for academic achievement during the spring semester of 2014. Dean's List recognition is earned by those whose grade point ratio is 3.2 or higher with no grade below a C for the previous semester's work.

On May 10, 2014, 98 individuals graduated with advanced degrees from The Citadel Graduate College.

Members of The Citadel Class of 2014 were recognized for excellence in leadership, service and academics. The SC Corps of Cadets celebrated the graduation of 493 seniors from 36 states on May 10, 2014. Of those cadets, 158 were commissioned as officers. Veteran students were also among the graduates. Top areas of study for the class included business administration, engineering, political science and criminal justice.

Dean's List recognition is given to those students registered for 12 or more semester hours whose grade point ratio is 3.2 or higher with no grade below a C for the previous semester's work.

The following student earned Gold Stars at The Citadel for the spring semester of the 2013-2014 academic year. The honor signifies academic excellence for earning a 3.7 grade point average or higher on a 4.0 scale.

SCCC Promotions

The following students have been been selected for a leadership position in the South Carolina Corps of Cadets at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. The announcement was made this spring by Commandant of Cadets Col. Leo Mercado, USMC retired. The promotion list includes the regimental commander, the top ranking member of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets, and company and battalion commanders. The student military officers assume their new roles in the fall.

Citadel cadets named to the Commandant's List are recognized for having made the most positive contributions to their platoon, company, battalion, or staff, the South Carolina Corps of Cadets and The Citadel during the previous semester.

The 2015 Summerall Guards, a silent drill platoon at The Citadel, made its debut during Corps Day Weekend March 15, 2014. The Corps of Cadets this year celebrated its 171th birthday.

The following students have been named to the President's List at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. The President's List is the most distinguished awards list on which a cadet can be placed. It indicates excellence in academics and military duties for the previous semester. The President's List is a combination of the Dean's List and the Commandant's Distinguished Service List, which is composed of cadets who contribute the most to their companies and who have excellent milita

The following cadets are among 61 rising seniors that have gone through rigorous drill and physical training to be selected as members of the Summerall Guards. Cadets are chosen for their ability to precisely execute selected portions of the drill series they will perform as Summerall Guards, as well as, their demonstrated level of physical fitness and stamina
