Cadet Col. George Dillon Graham was the 2018 recipient of the Palmetto Award, one of the highest awards presented by The Citadel.

Students were recognized for their academic accomplishments at The Citadel Academy of Science and Mathematics Awards Banquet on March 22.

Citadel cadets spent part of their Spring Furlough on a four-day trip to Orangeburg, South Carolina; Greensboro, North Carolina; and Washington D.C. to visit historical sites, museums and colleges important to the Civil Rights Movement.

Nine cadets in The Citadel Cyber Defense Team competed in the Southeast Collegiate Cyber Defense Contest Feb. 24.

Ten members of The Citadel Ethics Team traveled to Chicago March 3-4 for the 2018 Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl.

The Society of the Cincinnati of the State of South Carolina presented Cadet Lt. Col. John Cordes with the 2018 Citadel Medal.

The following people recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

The Dean's List is a recognition given to cadets and students who are registered for 12 or more semester hours and whose grade point average is 3.20 or higher, with no grade of I (Incomplete) and no grade below C for work in a semester.

Cadet Col. George Dillon Graham was a 2018 recipient of the General Douglas MacArthur Cadet of the Year Award. The award is presented to the most outstanding cadets from the 12 colleges and universities comprising the Association of Military Colleges and Schools (AMCSUS).

Gold Stars were awarded to cadets and students at The Citadel who achieved a 3.7 grade point average or higher in a semester. Cadets and students who achieve Gold Star recognition are also placed on The Citadel's Dean's List.

The President's List is one of the most distinguished cadet awards presented by The Citadel. The list is a combination of the Dean's List and the Commandant's Distinguished List and is composed of cadets who contribute the most to their companies while maintaining excellent military and academic records.

The Citadel officially welcomes the Class of 2021. The incoming class of over 800 new cadets represents 42 states and six foreign countries.

The Citadel honored the following students with Gold Stars for outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2016-2017 academic year. Gold Stars are awarded to students that achieve a 3.7 grade point average or higher in a semester. Students that achieve Gold Star recognition are also placed on The Citadel's Dean's List.

The Citadel proudly honors recent graduates for receiving their bachelor's degrees in summer 2017. Summer graduates include cadets, cadet veterans, fifth year students, active duty students and veteran students.

The Citadel Graduate College honored distinguished evening undergraduate students, graduate students and faculty members at an awards ceremony for their academic achievements and outstanding leadership on May 4 at Johnson Hagood Stadium.

On May 6, 2017, over 250 individuals were recognized for earning certificates, evening undergraduate and advanced degrees.

At the Awards Convocation on May 4, more than 50 awards were presented to cadets in recognition of their outstanding accomplishments during the school year.

The David Shingler Spell Second Honor Graduate Award is presented to the first-class cadet graduate who has earned the second highest cumulative grade point ratio based on all courses taken at The Citadel. The recipient receives an inscribed plaque and a stipend to be used for educational expenses at the graduate level or at the discretion of the recipient.

The Citadel's South Carolina Corps of Cadets received degrees on Saturday, May 6, 2017 in McAlister Field House.

The Office of the Commandant has announced the rising leadership in the South Carolina Corps of Cadets.

Each year, students who excel academically and maintain integrity and high ethical standards are invited to join this prestigious honor society. Only the top 7.5 percent of juniors and the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students are eligible for membership

The Citadel produces more officers through its ROTC programs than almost any college in America. This spring approximately 93 cadets are expected to commission in all branches of military service. The Citadel's Joint ROTC Awards formally observed over 100 outstanding members of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets on Thursday, March 23 at McAlister Field House. Annually, each ROTC unit honors exemplary cadets for both scholastic and military excellence.

The Summerall Guards, a silent precision drill platoon from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, demonstrate the college's ideals of honor, integrity, loyalty, leadership, self-discipline and patriotism.
